Septic tanks and pumping
When there are no public sewers available, septic tanks are used to treat household waste. Septic systems can be designed in a variety of ways, but all of them work predominantly the same. Most septic tank systems consist of a large concrete or plastic tank, a distribution box, and a series of leach fields. The waste from the house leaves the house through the main sewer and enters the septic tank through the inlet pipe whenever you turn on the faucet, flush the toilet, or wash the clothes. Light solids will float to the top while heavy solids sink to the bottom, forming a layer of sludge.
The bacteria in the tank eat the solids and reduce their volume. Those remaining fluids/solids are pumped out and transported to municipal sewage treatment plants. A septic solution should be added to the tank after it has been pumped out. A biological and enzyme treatment product, a septic solution is designed to reactivate septic tanks that are performing poorly. It accelerates bacterial reactivation and eliminates unwanted odors.
